Can We Please Have Our Covid Passports, Already?

They’re the best way to incentivize vaccinations and keep people safe

Welp, it happened again.

In the grocery store, there was a man with his two middle school sons, strutting around without a mask on. The kids weren’t wearing one, either. He had a soul patch and his head was shaved and tattooed, so I may have been more surprised if he had been a responsible adult.

“Put a mask on, asshole,” I barked at him, in spite of his kids being there.

No, because his kids were there. They should know what other people think of their father.

He apologized and stepped to the side, apparently assuming that I had said, “Excuse me, can I just scooch in there and get a can of peas?”

In a sense, it was perfect because there was no confrontation and it’ll be hours before his kids or his subconscious divulge what I really said.

I won’t lie, I’m surprised it took so long for this to happen. Before today, it had been months since I saw a shopper going maskless. Living in a red part of New York state, the anti-mask crowd has been strong. Granted, though, I don’t shop in what other locals call “the grocery store for racists.” I’m sure that’s the place to be, if you’d rather have covid and…
